Please donate to provide internships for early career conservationists.

Bush Heritage Australia and Trust for Nature are celebrating the 15th birthday of our Celebrating Women in Conservation Breakfast by coming together and creating an internship that supports women who are early career conservationists.

Women remain under-represented across many STEM fields in Australia. While environmental science performs better than much of the broader STEM sector in terms of gender representation, equity has not yet been consistently achieved or sustained.

This internship is offered as a women identified opportunity to support women and gender diverse people. It aims to increase access to practical experience, professional networks, and pathways into conservation and environmental science, helping to strengthen a diverse and capable future workforce through real-world experience in conservation.

The internship is designed to provide experience across our two conservation organisations with distinct, but complementary roles. Working with both Bush Heritage and Trust for Nature will allow the intern to see how different organisations collaborate, operate on the ground, and contribute to shared conservation objectives. This exposure will support a broader understanding of the sector and the ways partnerships strengthen conservation outcomes.
